Situated at the head of a deep sea loch at the gateway to the outer islands and north mainland, this is a charming destination away from the stresses of modern life.
Voe House is set in 2 acres of lovely grounds and gardens including a front lawn that slopes down to the sea. The deck at the rear of the spa is a great place for sitting outside and taking in the mesmerising Shetland views. Inside the spa is pretty special too, with a sunken 6 seater hot tub and a 4 person steam room, ideal for a pampering experience. Sit back, relax and listen to your favourite playlist on the Bluetooth surround music system.
The 2 kitchens are fully equipped for group cooking and the utility room great for drying the wet kit of keen walkers and cyclists ready for the next day's adventures. There's formal dining for up to 18 guests, and the lounge has an open fire and Smart TV and is a cosy room to spend evenings over a board game and a nightcap.
The ground floor at Voe House is wheelchair accessible with ramp access and level floors in the living accommodation and spa. The ground floor bedroom with en suite is a bonus for anyone in the group less mobile. The other 6 bedrooms, each individually named, offer a choice of 4 posters, doubles, a triple and a king or twin zip and link, great for a mixed age group. The triple room on the top floor works very well as a family room or as a den for the children, away from the grown ups. There are en suite facilities in all bedrooms with a separate shower and loo in the spa.
Head to the festive town of Brae for facilities and pubs. And explore Shetland on foot or bike, sampling the local wildlife and dramatic scenery. There are lots of festivals throughout the year and great local produce to sample either at home or in local restaurants.
