This Dartmoor family holiday house is perfect for multi generations families and friends getting together for a break away in the wild and wonderful Dartmoor National Park. Please note this is not a party venue.
Weeke Barton is full of original beamed ceilings, wonky walls and inglenook fireplaces, combined with creature comforts and contemporary style. Set in 5 glorious acres of gardens, enjoy private use of 2 lawns and a stream. Weeke Barton is also dog friendly.
The living accommodation at Weeke Barton is very comfortable and sociable. A fully equipped kitchen is great for group meal prep to be shared at a dining table for 12 guests next to a wood burner. If the weather is good, head outside for a barbecue on the patio. The lounge is cosy with a warming log stove and sofas made for a snooze or curling up with a book from our extensive collection. The snug bar with low ceilings, wood panelling and squishy seating - perfect for a wee dram or 2.
The 6 bedrooms comprise 4 superkings (one of which can be a twin) and 2 kings, luxury spaces with sheepskin window seats and quality Egyptian cotton bedding. All rooms are en suite - bathrooms include 3 with indulgent baths and shower and 3 with showers. Anyone less mobile might opt for a ground floor room with direct French door access to the garden.
Dartmoor is rich in opportunities for activities including hiking, cycling, fishing, wild swimming and golf. Local attractions include the River Dart Country Park, Cannonteign Falls, Chagford Lido and Bellever Woods, where you may spot cute Dartmoor ponies. The Nobody Inn in the Teign Valley comes recommended, with good food and ale at the end of a long walk. The beach is reachable in 25 minutes; head to Shaldon, Brixham and the South West Coastal Path.
