Wellpark House is a great experience for many occasions, especially family celebrations and anniversaries, golfing, walking, riding and fishing weeks in magical surroundings.
The setting is beautiful, in a large (1 acre) landscaped garden with ancient trees, facing the River Owenriff, where salmon can be seen as they leap upstream each May.
It has a traditional dining room, comfortable living room with (wood burners) and seating for 12, 6 bedrooms (3 King size, 1 Queen size, 2 twins and one child's bed plus 2 cots), 3 bathrooms (one with extra shower enclosure) and a shower room, all with bidets and Italian hand painted tiles.
Wellpark is unique for the comfort it offers and its spectacular location. It has Internet access, maxi screen satellite TV, DVD and stereo system, a huge, well equipped farmhouse kitchen with open fire and seating for 12, French windows opening onto a conservatory sun room, (for tea in the garden in all weathers!) and a laundry room. There is a also a specially designed barbecue garden in local stone, with flowering fuchsia hedges and apple trees.
Wellpark is in the picturesque village of Oughterard, by the River Owenriff and boasting a beautiful 18 hole golf course, welcome to all. The village is situated at the beginning of the famous scenic area of Connemara, famous for its spectacular countryside, fishing opportunities and pristine beaches. Galway City is only 25km away, and is a university town with a fascinating centre offering art festivals, theatre, shopping, pubs, pampering health spas in various hotels, restaurants, the spectacular Cathedral, (inaugurated by Pope John Paul), and Galway is also home to international horse racing.
A walk down Main Street is a fascinating experience, coloured by the various young musicians and artists performing ad lib, which contribute to the fascination of Galway.
The surrounding area of Connemara is famous for its salmon and trout fishing. Lake Corrib is only 5 minutes away. Connemara boasts beautiful pristine beaches and spectacular countryside and the exciting scenic road route of "The Wild Atlantic Way". A riding school is nearby and a panoramic (bike hire) trekking route.
