Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
The White House, Aylsham, Norfolk, sleeps 10-11 in 5 bedrooms.
Dating back to 1650, The White House was once owned by the Duchy of Lancaster and the property has enjoyed a varied history, housing numerous members of the gentry over the years. More recently, The White House has been lovingly renovated by its current owners and today offers guests a wonderful environment in which to spend relaxing holidays and celebrate special occasions.
The White House is situated within a 5-minute walk of Aylsham town centre where you will find a variety of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms as well as a range of high street and independent shops. Aylsham is also host to a monthly farmers’ market and the Aylsham Show, a traditional agricultural event held annually on August Bank Holiday Monday.
Outdoor enthusiasts will not be disappointed either: just half a mile away is the Marriott’s Way, Weaver’s Way, and Bure Valley Path where walking and cycling adventures await you along disused railways, across rolling farmland and through historic country estates.
The National Trust’s Blickling Estate, with its magnificent Jacobean house and gardens, is also just a 5-minute drive away. This grand Norfolk residence is home to one of history’s most famous phantoms, Anne Boleyn, and her headless ghost is said to return every year on 19 May, the anniversary of her execution.
Being centrally located between Norwich, the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk coast, The White House is also an ideal base from which to explore a variety of inland and coastal attractions. If you do not fancy driving, there’s a regular bus service from Aylsham to Norwich, as well as to the traditional seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham, and the Georgian town of Holt. The Bure Valley Railway also offers steam train journeys from Aylsham to Wroxham, where you can charter a day launch or join an organised boat trip along the Norfolk Broads.
After a fun-filled day, The White House provides a wonderful sanctuary in which to relax with friends and family, either indoors in front of the fire or outside under the stars, before heading upstairs for a great night’s sleep in one of the well-appointed bedrooms.
