Whitehaven (Stone Cottage) is a delightful family friendly holiday property sleeping 12, tastefully renovated and extended to have 6 superking bedrooms. The house is set in approximately an acre of lawns and gardens, overlooking the magnificent Forest of Dean. A great choice for long weekends with friends and getting together for birthdays or other celebrations.
Whitehaven also offers an ideal location for activity holidays, cycling, walking and for nature enthusiasts, with the Forest of Dean on your doorstep. We are well placed for a number of local golf courses in area. And it's easy to get to cultural centres too, including Bristol, Cardiff and Cheltenham.
One of the highlights of Whitehaven is the indoor heated swimming pool (maintained at 29/30 degrees). 2 activity rooms offer table football and a pool table - great for fun family competitions. And there's an outdoor luxury dining Pavilion set within the gardens, as well as a barbecue area (please bring your own charcoal).
The large kitchen/diner has a table with seating for the whole group - the perfect place to spend an evening with family and friends celebrating a special occasion or just catching up with one another. The 2 spacious reception rooms include the main lounge with a toasty log burner, Sky TV and DVD player. There's also a Bose wave music system and wireless broadband.
There are 6 superking bedrooms, 1 being on the ground floor making the house accessible for those with reduced mobility. 4 are en suite, and a Jack & Jill bathroom is shared between 2 bedrooms. All have a TV.
This peaceful country location offer numerous walks and popular cycle trails and lots of family friendly attractions nearby. Visit Symonds Yat and the famous Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail. Get active at Go Ape, or experience the local heritage at fascinating attractions including the Dean Forest Railway, Clearwell Caves and Hopewell Mine. Or visit Puzzlewood, widely used as a film location (Harry Potter, Star Wars and Dr Who).
