Whitehaven (Stone Cottage) is a delightful family friendly holiday property sleeping 12, tastefully renovated and extended to have 6 superking bedrooms. The house is set in approximately an acre of lawns and gardens, overlooking the magnificent Forest of Dean. A great choice for long weekends with friends and getting together for birthdays or other celebrations.

Whitehaven also offers an ideal location for activity holidays, cycling, walking and for nature enthusiasts, with the Forest of Dean on your doorstep. We are well placed for a number of local golf courses in area. And it's easy to get to cultural centres too, including Bristol, Cardiff and Cheltenham.

One of the highlights of Whitehaven is the indoor heated swimming pool (maintained at 29/30 degrees). 2 activity rooms offer table football and a pool table - great for fun family competitions. And there's an outdoor luxury dining Pavilion set within the gardens, as well as a barbecue area (please bring your own charcoal).

The large kitchen/diner has a table with seating for the whole group - the perfect place to spend an evening with family and friends celebrating a special occasion or just catching up with one another. The 2 spacious reception rooms include the main lounge with a toasty log burner, Sky TV and DVD player. There's also a Bose wave music system and wireless broadband.

There are 6 superking bedrooms, 1 being on the ground floor making the house accessible for those with reduced mobility. 4 are en suite, and a Jack & Jill bathroom is shared between 2 bedrooms. All have a TV.

This peaceful country location offer numerous walks and popular cycle trails and lots of family friendly attractions nearby. Visit Symonds Yat and the famous Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail. Get active at Go Ape, or experience the local heritage at fascinating attractions including the Dean Forest Railway, Clearwell Caves and Hopewell Mine. Or visit Puzzlewood, widely used as a film location (Harry Potter, Star Wars and Dr Who).

Please be aware there are neighbouring properties to consider due to the village location.

Online grocery shopping is available from all major supermarkets and local farm shops.

This property is not suitable for wheelchair access. However, there is a ground floor bedroom with en suite shower facilities.

Dog Friendly

We only accept dogs by prior arrangement and access is strictly limited to certain areas. There is an additional cost for this accommodation.

The modernised kitchen/diner is well fitted and spacious with lots of cupboard space, featuring a centre island. Dishwasher, large fridge freezer.

Dining Room

The open plan dining / kitchen area seats 12 comfortably and has lovely views of the garden area.

Sitting Room

There are 2 comfortable lounge areas either side of a games room with pool table. The main lounge has a very effective wood burning stove and Sky TV.

TV and Music Facilities

The kitchen diner has a Bose radio and CD player. The main lounge has Sky TV and a DVD player. Bedrooms have Freeview TV.

Games Room

There are 2 games areas, the pool table room and the table soccer (foosball).

Heating and Open Fires

The kitchen dining room has underfloor heating and the rest of the house has gas central heating. Main lounge has a log burner.

Bedrooms

There are 6 superking bedrooms in total, 1 on the ground floor. 4 bedrooms are en suite, and 2 share a Jack & Jill bathroom.

Linen

Bed linen is provided with bathrobes and shower towels (not to be used in the pool). Guests will need to provide their own swimwear and towel.

4 of the bedrooms have en suite WC and shower and 2 share a Jack & Jill bathroom. There is also a ground floor WC/cloakroom and the pool has a WC.

Children's Facilities

Outdoor play area with trampoline and adventure centre (swings etc). Children must be adequately supervised. 2 travel cots, high chairs, bed rails.

The property has a luxury outdoor dining pavilion overlooking a large garden and patio barbecue area. Children's play area.

Swimming Pool

The heated indoor swimming pool is close to the main house and is accessed via the patio area. Guests need to provide their own towels and swimwear.

Parking

There is a private car park and also off road parking at the front of the house for approx 6 vehicles.
