Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Whitehouse Farm Barn, Heathcote, Hartington, Derbyshire, sleeps 6 - 14 in 6 bedrooms.
The location of this lovely family holiday house in the hamlet of Heathcote in the heart of the Peak District is fabulous. Whitehouse Farm Barn is just 20 minutes from the historic towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Matlock, and it's also within walking distance of Hartington Village and its 2 pubs as well as a pub in Biggin, which is a 20 minute walk across the fields. For hikers and cyclists there are walks and cycle tracks from the door including Wolfscote, Beresford and Biggin Dales and the Tissington Trail.
Whitehouse Farm Barn is a sympathetic conversion on what used to be a working farm, situated next door to the owners' house but not overlooked and with stunning Peak District views. The outdoor space has plenty of room for barbecues with garden furniture and a lawn. There is also access to a bike store and an EV charger.
The boot/utility room is a handy area for storage of muddy wellies, boots and wet gear. An open plan kitchen diner is well set up for cooking together and eating at sociable tables, perfect for catching up and chatting long into the night. The lounge is spacious with lots of comfy seating and a Smart TV.
The 6 bedrooms are arranged as kings or twins and one, with a king and 2 singles, is perfect for families, accessed via a separate staircase from the lounge. The ground floor king with en suite shower is ideal for grandparents or anyone not wanting to climb stairs. Crisp white soft furnishings contrast with splashes of colour to create attractive bedrooms for a good night's sleep. Some have vaulted ceilings with beautiful oak beams showing off the story of this impressive conversion.
Allow the youngsters to burn off some energy with local walks to Hartington Meadows Nature Reserve, Ruby Woods or Hartington Mere Conservation Pond. The spa town of Buxton with its Georgian and Victorian architecture, as well as the opera house and visitor centre, is well worth a visit. Bakewell is a popular small town with riverside walks, shops and cafes and is famous as the home of Bakewell Pudding and Thornbridge Brewery Taphouse. Attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Peak Wildlife Park and Heights of Abraham are a 25 minute drive from Whitehouse Farm Barn.
