Built between 1898 and 1902, Whitney Court retains its original period style. Oak panelled halls, large rooms, open fireplaces, grand bedrooms and cascading lawns and gardens, with the most amazing views.
The Court, which can comfortably sleep up to 22 guests, is ideal for house lets, parties, reunions, family celebrations and weddings.
There is both plenty of space both indoors and outdoors for your guests to explore, with footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes all available at the Court. We can also arrange archery, clay pigeon shooting, catch and release salmon and coarse fishing in season, and can recommend local activity and kayaking companies for those feeling energetic!!
There is a TV Room complete with DVD player, soft toys ideally suited to children, a beautiful smoke room set as a sitting room, a dining room to comfortably seat 22-24 guests, plus a double drawing room (perfect for special occasions - wedding breakfasts, celebratory suppers) and an oak panelled Great Hall (licensed for civil ceremonies, or a great area for corporate meetings and training and other indoor activities). There is a well equipped domestic kitchen with pantry, and also have a catering kitchen for larger events, all on the ground floor.
Upstairs there are 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple, 2 twins and 6 superking bedrooms (2 of which are en suite).
Renting the Court is on an exclusive use basis, and the house is available for one/two/three or more nights.
The enchanting town of Hay-on-Wye often known as the 'Town of Books' is only a 5 minute drive away, with its books, antiques and individual fashion shops - a great morning/afternoon out.
Prices start from £1375 a night stay. We take weekend and mid-week bookings.
