Large holiday cottage sleeping 10 with a pool table ideal for hill walking and touring the Scottish Highlands

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Woodlands, Glenshiel, Ross-shire, Scotland, sleeps 8-10 in 5 bedrooms.

Sitting in a fantastic position at the base of the Five Sisters of Kintail, Woodlands is a spacious and extremely comfortable, self-catering holiday cottage. With 21 Munros in its vicinity (the Five Sisters and Saddle being accessed direct from the house!), it is perfect for hill walkers and ramblers.

Please note that Woodlands is only available for week long bookings in high season. Short breaks available at other times.

Woodlands is also ideal for families with children - with pool and basketball, plus many board games, children love the house and what it has to offer (happy, occupied children = happy parents!). There is also half an acre to run around in, plus woodland to explore. Woodlands' atmosphere, size and layout make the house great for large get-togethers. Although in a very rural location, Woodlands is close to civilisation, with a hotel and bar serving great food just half a mile away.

Woodlands is a fantastic base for climbers and walkers. Apart from the many Munros in Glenshiel itself, several other mountain ranges are reachable - the Cuillen hills, Knoydart, Glenelg, Torridon, the Ben Nevis range and Glen Affric. In addition, Glencoe is less than 2 hours away. For those who prefer not to tackle such heights, there are several mid and low level walks. Amble alongside tumbling burns and cascading waterfalls, roam through forests and isolated glens, wander along the banks of tranquil mountain lochs, or explore the miles of fabulous coastline along the north west of Scotland.

Woodlands is also extremely well-placed for touring and exploring the Highlands and Islands by car or motorbike. The peace and tranquility of Applecross (made famous by Monte Hall's documentary series) is easily accessed via the highest road in Scotland, or take a cruise along Loch Ness and visit Urquhart Castle.

Closer to home there is the dramatic Eilean Donan Castle, the glorious Glenelg peninsular, the delightful Plockton or you may fancy going over the sea to Skye. Lots of other possibilities for the whole family - seal watching, trips in a glass-bottomed boat, boating, pony trekking, mackerel fishing - or just relax in the house and enjoy the views.
