4 mega Pods - sleep 2 in each in a double bed (plus large double sofa bed in each)

If you are looking for the best walking and hiking trails in the Lake District, the Eskdale Valley is a safe bet. The Woolpack Farm offers really comfy accommodation in Byre lodges and pods for active groups to make the most of the wonderful outdoors, as well as multi generation family gatherings and friends getting together for a reunion. We welcome dogs too.

The Byres were originally a farm but has been converted into beautiful studio style glamping lodges. Two have superior built in bunk beds, one with a double and single bed and an option for a small trundle to be added.

The 4 mega pods for are cosy glamping units, lovely for couples as a romantic break away from it all, or for families who want to ditch the tent for a cosier home from home experience but with the outdoors right outside the door. The efficient use of space and open plan living makes for a truly comfortable stay and includes a private shower room and a small kitchenette, with French doors to outside overlooking the remote countryside. The units are close to each other but with plenty of room in between for those wanting privacy. Each has a firepit for toasting marshmallows on the firepit after dark. There are 3 pubs within walking distance and the Woolpack Inn is right next door. Perfect.

Woolpack Farm is a fantastic base for exploring the area with walks from the door for all levels, including a stroll along the River Esk or a harder climb up to Scafell Pike. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Narrow Gauge Railway is a delightful and more relaxing way to see the Eskdale Valley in a 40 minute ride, and is very close to the accommodation. Available on site by pre-arrangement are outdoor adventure experiences with West Lakes Adventure, who can also arrange group outdoor activities for guests and Bike Hire for those who want to explore the Eskdale valley by bike. Muncaster Castle and Eskdale Mill are interesting historic attractions.

Each Pod has inside and outside dining for the number of guests, the Byres have a covered dining area and outside eating space in the garden area.

Sitting Room

The Byres and Pods have sofas inside. The Byres has comfy outside seating on the decking.

TV and Music Facilities

No TV or music.

Games Room

There is no games room.

Heating and Open Fires

All units are eco friendly and heated by biomass throughout the year. Fire pits outside.

Bedrooms

The Byre lodges have 2 doubles and 2 single top bunks. Kepple has a double and single plus trundle. The pods have double beds and a double sofa bed.

Linen

Bedding and linen and one hand towel provided. Towel sets available to hire.

Bathrooms

All units have private contemporary showers and WCs.

Children's Facilities

No specific facilities.

Outdoor

Byres: covered outside seating and food prep area. Pods: picnic benches, space for barbecues. Fire pits and large gardens and a woodland.

Off road secure parking.

No smoking including e-cigs for the comfort of other guests please.

Booking Information

50% deposit to secure the booking, balance due 2 weeks before arrival. Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. 2 night min stay, 3 night for bank hols. Dogs 3.50/night – please do not leave unattended or allow on furniture. Strict no smoking policy. £300 bond for hens/stags. No youth groups under 16.
