We are family friendly, dog friendly and walker friendly! Dunster is situated in the Exmoor National Park and is overlooked by a magnificent fairytale castle. There are many attractions, things to do and beautiful scenery to absorb in Somerset, so it is the perfect touring location. The Exmoor National Park covers parts of West Somerset and North Devon. Its landscapes are incredibly varied, ranging from areas of open moorland, intimate deep valleys and ancient oak woodlands, to coastal areas with some of the highest and most spectacular cliffs. As well as the National Park, these incredible landscapes and features are protected by the National Trust, Nature Reserves or Heritage Coast. This area has some of the best walking country you could wish for. Exmoor National Park encompasses the start of the longest National trail, The South West Coast Path, which starts three miles from the hotel. Then there is the Coleridge way. This offers a 36 mile walk across open country with some spectacular scenery. We offer pre-booked minibus transport and route directions to help you walk liner walks each day to complete this scenic trail from Nether Stowey to Porlock. The MacMillan Way West also passes nearby, coming from the Quantock Hills and passing over Exmoor on its way to Barnstaple. We have a drying room for wet clothes and boots – so no need to worry about where to put all your gear if the weather gets a bit wet!
