Yenworthy Lodge is a converted hunting lodge within the Glenthorne Estate. It's set in 6 acres of its own private grounds with woodland, fields and an outdoor terraced seating area. It has a private drive and plenty of parking. Yenworthy Lodge is a popular outdoor activity centre and offers bunk-style accommodation at weekends and during school holidays with sole use of the property and facilities. Camping is also available in the grounds meaning that larger numbers can be accommodated.

The grounds of Yenworthy overlook the Bristol Channel and have wonderful views of Exmoor and the Welsh Coast. Located on the South West Coast path, midway between Lynmouth and Porlock, the lodge is within reach of the surf beaches and coves of North Devon. A wealth of walking, cycling, horse-riding and mountain biking is available in Exmoor National Park and on our doorstep.

The Lodge is open all year round offering accommodation for up to 30 people on a single floor level. We have 13 multiple occupancy bunk and twin rooms. One of our bedrooms (with 4 beds) and one bathroom with a shower has full disabled access. The Lodge is accessible for wheelchair users, with a well equipped kitchen, dining room and sitting room with plenty of space. A large terrace has outdoor seating for dining with a view, and a games room is available.

The accommodation can be used as a base to simply relax and explore the local area at your own pace. Although if you're feeling adventurous, we can arrange outdoor activities for your group. Our fully qualified instructors can provide a range of activities, including; surfing, body-boarding, and canoeing. Activities can be designed to meet your groups requirements, for all ages and abilities.

The accommodation is all on 1 level, with two bedrooms having hoists and accessible toilets and showers. Ramps and extra wide doors.

Kitchen

Fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, ovens, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Tesco will deliver to the centre to make shopping stress free.

Dining Room

Lovely dining room for your group and outside a spacious terrace with picnic benches for eating with a view.

Large comfortable lounge.

TV and Music Facilities

Internet facilities available. DVD player projector and whiteboard, great for group screenings.

Games Room

We have a games room with table tennis and table football.

Heating and Open Fires

The Centre is warm and cosy with central heating. There's large drying room for wet suits / kit. Designated campfire / BBQ area outside with seating.

Bedrooms

11 multiple occupancy rooms, 3 with en suite toilets. We can also offer you camping pitches in our groups.

Linen

Please bring all bed linen & towels.

Bathrooms

Clean bathrooms with excellent showers. 1 bathroom is accessible for disabled visitors. We also have a solar powered additional outdoor shower block.

Children's Facilities

We have a games room. Woodland, grassed areas, a level playing field and a adventure play area. Please ensure children are supervised.

Outdoor

6 acres of private grounds surrounded by moorland. Plenty of space for relaxing outside and a barbecue area. Pond on site. Ropes course and zip-wire.

Swimming Pool

No pool on site, but the sea is on our doorstep.

Parking

Private parking for at least 20 cars and space for minibuses.

Smoking

No smoking in the building, smoking only permitted in designated outside area.

Booking Information

The rental price is for sole use of Yenworthy Lodge. Available for weekends and school holidays for a minimum of 2 nights. £360 per night for a group 8-15 people and £450 per night for groups of more than 15 persons. Longer stay discounts are available for stays over 4 nights.

Location

Located in the heart of Exmoor on the Somerset/Devon border. On the A39 – 45 minutes from junction 24 of the M5.

  • Minehead, Taunton and Barnstaple have bus depots, with a bus running from Minehead past the centre.
  • Barnstaple station is an hour's drive from the centre.
  • The pretty village of Lynton is 7 miles away and Minehead seaside town is 14 miles from the centre. Woolacombe and Croyde are 45 minutes away.
  • Minehead is busy seaside town with a variety of shops and several supermarkets. Lynton and Porlock have a selection of small shops.
  • There are several country pubs nearby, the closest is 1.5 miles away. They offer a selection of Exmoor menus and good quality pub food.
  • Bristol and Exeter.
