Nestled in the countryside just north of Carlisle, Hidden River Cabins and Hidden River House offer a unique blend of rustic charm and modern comforts, making it an ideal getaway for families, friends, and couples alike.

It’s a true hidden gem, with the house and cabins offering two fantastic options for guests to immerse themselves in a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

If you’re planning an event — whether it’s a landmark birthday or wedding — the venue also has a brilliant events space and onsite restaurant, making it an amazing self-contained getaway for you and your guests.

Hidden River House and Courtyard Cottages

The wonderful Hidden River House is set next to Courtyard Cottages, offering group accommodation for up to 53 guests in total. The house itself accommodates 16 guests, with a further 37 beds across the six courtyard cottages — it makes for an ideal setup for a large multi-generational family group.

Each cottage boasts a mix of rustic charm and contemporary features, and some have hot tubs and open wood-fires – perfect for a cosy night in.

The Cabins

Set on the banks of the on the banks of the River Lyne – fishing is available – each of the six spacious cabins at Hidden River Cabins provides privacy and exclusivity, ensuring a personal and uninterrupted experience.

The cabins are well-appointed with fully equipped kitchens, featuring large-range cookers, separate fridges, freezers, wine coolers, dishwashers, and washing machines. The open-plan living areas include a cozy wood burner, large sofas, and TVs, perfect for relaxing evenings together.

For those who enjoy al fresco dining, barbecues are available for hire. The cabins also boast private hot tubs, where you can unwind while soaking in the views of the surrounding woodland and river.

Events and Weddings Onsite

If you’re looking for a truly unique space for a wedding or celebration, Hidden River Barn is a brand new events space, offering an amazing events space for up to 250 guests.

Even better? Many of your guests can stay onsite across house, cottage and cabin accommodation – 114 guests can be accommodated in total.

Food and Drink – Hidden River Restaurant

While all of the accommodation onsite has a fantastic setup for self-catering, you can also enjoy a real treat at the Hidden River Restuarant.

The beautiful space offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, with Sunday Roasts available too. Make sure to book in advance!

Activities and The Surrounding Area

Located 20 minutes from Carlisle and close to the Lake District, Hidden River Cabins serves as a perfect base for exploring the rich beauty of Cumbria.

The area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Guests can enjoy long woodland walks, river fishing (included in the stay), or simply bask in the tranquillity of their private river views.
