Seaside Skegness on the east coast of Lincolnshire has a long history stretching back to Roman times. It became a holiday resort hotspot in the 1870s and has been attracting holiday makers ever since. The sandy Blue Flag beach is perfect for lazy family holidays and also holds the annual Skegness Beach Race in November, an off-road motorcycle event. Hop on to the Victorian pier for a wander round the attractions and take in the views over to Hunstanton on a clear day. You could also head to the Natureland Seal Sanctuary or the Skegness Aquarium. Back in the town, you’ll find all the shops, restaurants and bars you could need.
