Group Accommodation Wigtownshire

You are here

A historic county, Wigtownshire is now part of Dumfries and Galloway. With a location facing the North Channel to the west and the Irish Sea to the south, it makes up the western part of Galloway. Today you and your group will find the quaint little town of Wigtown (a former royal burgh) is now Scotland’s National Book Town. Packed full of bookshops, including the country’s second biggest second-hand bookshop, literary lovers will also be pleased to note that there’s a book festival to enjoy in September as well. Nearby, wildlife enthusiasts can spot ospreys and all sorts of geese in the salt marshes, and history lovers should nip to the Torehousekie Stone Circle. Choose to stay in pretty timber lodges or large houses, perfect for extended families or large groups of friends.
