Set within 4 acres of gardens and woodlands, this former cattle farm now converted into holiday cottages and apartments is a good base for exploring the North and South Cornish coastlines. The owners have focused on the natural surroundings in this project so that their animals and indigenous wildlife are protected, doing everything possible to reduce their carbon footprint while still offering 7 warm, comfy and flexible properties for a fantastic stress free break away.
Groups of friends or multi generation families will love the choice of accommodation, close to each other but with enough space for some peace and privacy. Higher Trewithin is also somewhere special to visit for a yoga retreat.
All 7 cottages and apartments are well equipped for the number of guests staying. The Hayloft and The Barn are ideal for larger numbers, whereas The Cottage and The Nook are perfect for couples, or perhaps grandparents in a 3 generational gathering.
Kitchens have everything you need, and The Hayloft has a dishwasher. Lounges are comfortable spaces to chill out and watch TV and there are outside seating areas, or balconies, for soaking up some sun and having a catch up. The communal garden areas and grass are perfect for your group to meet up for a barbecue and for the kids to run around.
Bedrooms are set up as superkings, doubles or twins, some via zip and links. Just let the owners know your requirements in advance. For example, The Dairy and The Stable can be arranged as 4 singles, depending on the group. Bathroom facilities are plentiful with contemporary showers and baths.
Locally there are a number of walks from the site including a 5 mile circular walk around Stithians Lake where there are watersports on offer, as well as fishing. Truro is reachable in 20 minutes, worth a wander around interesting shops and a look at its impressive cathedral. Falmouth and spectacular beaches including Gyllygvase and Maenporth Beach are close by.
