Pear Tree Farm Guest House offers purpose-built guest accommodation where all 9 bedrooms are en-suite power shower in 4 double, 3 twin and 2 family rooms which have a double and 2 single beds in each and bath/shower over. Two rooms, a double and twin, are located on the ground floor and are suitable for wheelchair access with wet rooms.

Our spacious guest lounge has a lovely wood burning stove, large TV, Video and DVD player and is the perfect place to relax. There is a range of books and magazines made available to guests for the duration of their stay. Outdoors, we have a patio area with tables and chairs, a fire pit (wood provided) as well as a gazebo and barbecue facilities by arrangement in the garden.

Pear Tree Farm Guest House is available for sole use self catering; has private parking; lovely views over the valley and 15 min walk to the local pub/restaurant in Lea village. Lots of walks door to door including walking over the River Derwent to Cromford Canal and the High Peak Trail. Carsington Water Sports 20 min drive; Matlock Bath 10 min drive, etc.

Pear Tree Farm is within the Derwent Valley World Heritage designation and is mentioned in the literature as being a 17th century corn mill in connection with Florence Nightingale's family. The local landscape is steeped in history with picturesque countryside as well as stately homes (including Chatsworth and Haddon Hall), museums and art galleries all a short drive away. Our rural location means that we have nature on our doorstep as foxes, badgers, kingfishers and water voles have all made their home around Pear Tree Farm.

Two ground floor rooms with disabled facilities. Wheelchair access throughout the ground floor.

Dog Friendly

We do not accommodate pets unless good owners and kept off all fabrics and bring their own bed and clean up after them!.

Kitchen

Guests have full use of our kitchen with 2 dishwashers, double-oven range, microwave, 2 fridges/freezers, washing machine and all crockery.

Dining Room

Beautiful aspect looking out over the garden and fields. Seating for up to 25 guests around three very large oak tables.

Sitting Room

A large spacious lounge area in a traditional style with wood burning stove, TV, DVD, VCR and stereo system. A selection of books & games is available

TV and Music Facilities

Large TV, DVD and Video players; iPod dock; Radio.

Games Room

We do not have a games room yet.

Heating and Open Fires

Central Heating in all rooms (individually controlled radiator thermostat) and wood burning fire in lounge as well.

Bedrooms

4 with double beds, 3 twin bedded and 2 family rooms which have a double and 2 single beds in each with bath. All en-suite power shower.

Linen

All bed linen and towels provided.

Bathrooms

All rooms en-suite with power showers. Both family rooms have bath with shower over. Ground floor double and twin bedded have wet rooms.

Children's Facilities

Perfect for family holidays and celebrations. Please contact the owner to discuss arrangements. High chair and cot available.

Outdoor

Garden furniture; firepit; gazebo; parasols and BBQ (gas) in garden. Please book your own hot tub but let us know who with.

Swimming Pool

Not on site, however, there is a newly built one at Matlock Sports Centre (The Ark) 15 min drive.

Parking

Large private off road car park area with disabled-bay directly to the front of the property.

Smoking

No smoking in the building.

Booking Information

10% deposit secures a booking balance 1 month prior. Pay BACS or Card. Contact for quote if not using all bedrooms. Prices inclusive of power and heat.
Self-catering option sole occupancy of whole site from £1550 for 2 nights winter rate/£1650 summer rate.

Carsington Water is under 30 minutes drive away with bird hides, water sports and Middleton Top Cycle Hire on the High Peak Trail.

  • Cromford 2 miles.
  • Matlock is approximately 15 minutes drive away, however, the smaller Cromford Village and outstanding Matlock Bath are only a 10 minute drive from us.
  • 10 min walk Holloway village takes you to an award winning Maycock Butchers (with Deli counter) and village shop.
  • 10 min walk Lea village, the Jug and Glass does traditional food and a Sunday roast.
  • Nottingham East Midlands.
