One of the most striking buildings in Ilfracombe, The Habit is a large ‘party house’ sleeping up to 35. Originally known as the Crescent House Hotel, it retains many original features in addition to its handsome façade which overlooks the sea front. Set in the heart of Ilfracombe, The Habit is just a few minutes walk from the seafront, theatre, cinema, fine dining restaurants and harbour with Damien Hirst's 20m bronze sculpture of Verity

Being only a short walk from the Tunnel Beaches wedding venue, it is the ideal place for guests to stay together.

Previously run as a very successful boutique hotel, the property is now a ‘sole-use’ hotel, or big party house, for family get-togethers, special birthdays, celebrations and reunions.

Our manager lives close by and is on hand during your stay to help with anything you need. Our caterer can offer full 3 course meals, buffet style banquets and BBQs or pizza parties in the garden. Breakfast of bacon sandwiches and/or fruit platters can also be delivered.

Enter the front door into a fabulous hallway containing a sweeping staircase. Off the hallway is the former ballroom – now a huge lounge, which features a large bar (we can stock it for you if you like!), sofas, chairs and tables - a fantastic party venue. There is also a large TV screen, sound system and games. Doors lead out to the deck with furniture, patio heaters and fabulous sea views.

Off this room is the dining room with seating for 30 and more wonderful views. This leads to the split-level conservatory which gives you access to the garden and parking area.

The large commercial style kitchen is off the dining room and has all the amenities you could possibly need for catering for a large group.

The staircase from the main reception takes you down to a very large games room with plenty to entertain all members of your group.

There are 14 en suite bedrooms - 11 king, 1 twin, 1 triple and 1 quad rooms, spread over 3 floors, most with sea views and all with their own individual style. Daybeds are available for additional guests.

Huge 60ft former ballroom with enough seating for 50 people. Doors onto deck with seating and sea view. Large bar and sound system.
TVs in every bedroom. 65” TV in lounge and games room. Sound system in bar and outside to plug iPad into. 2 TVs with Xbox and Wii.
WiFi available throughout the building.
50ft games room with table tennis, pool table, table football, TV, Xbox, Wii, climbing wall. Beanbags and comfy seating for chilling.
Full heating throughout the hotel with log fire and gas fire in the lounge.
14 en suite bedrooms - 11 king, 1 twin, 1 triple and 1 quad. Each bedroom is unique in decor and most have sea views. 3 rooms have 2 additional beds.
All linen and towels provided but please bring your own beach towels.
All rooms are en suite - all have luxury rain showers and 9 also have claw foot baths.
As there are a lot of steps the property is unfortunately not suitable for the disabled.
There are 2 high chairs and 1 travel cot. There are also games, books and DVDs plus the fully equipped games room.
Lovely terrace and garden offering fantastic views over the sea. There is an outside kitchen, BBQ and pizza oven plus chairs and table.
There is no pool.
There is parking at the rear of the property for 6/7 cars if blocking each other in. Additional parking can be found in a car park 200 yards away.
Smoking is not allowed inside the building or in the garden.
Well behaved dogs available downstairs only.

Location

A short stroll from Ilfracombe’s attractive harbour, galleries and restaurants, The Habit is in the heart of this traditional seaside town with excellent restaurants and art galleries.
In the heart of Ilfracombe and just a 10 minute drive from the surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe. Everything is within easy walking distance so once you park your car you don't need it again.
Local supermarket for essentials 100 yards. Co-op 5 minute walk, Lidl 10 minute walk, Tesco 5 minute drive.
The Admiral Collingwood is 100 yards at the bottom of the garden! Numerous other excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk including the only Michelin starred restaurant in North Devon.

Booking Information

Changeover day is Friday and bookings can either by 3 night weekends Friday to Monday or 7 nights Friday to Friday. Damage deposit is £750.
