Dog and family friendly holiday house near Pickering, accessible and sleeping 16 with a hot tub for long weekends and celebrations
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Yorkshire Homestead, Malton, North Yorkshire, sleeps 8 - 16 in 8 bedrooms.
It is hard to believe that this fantastic renovation project used to be a derelict barn. Influenced by traditional farm buildings; the owners have retained the vaulted ceilings, wood beams. brick walls and stone floors but added to it modern features to create warm and comfortable open plan living. Yorkshire Homestead is now a really sociable holiday house near Malton, perfect for multi generation families and friends holidays, with 2 sitting rooms and a raised terrace outside with undercover hot tub. And it is within walking distance of a local pub.
The lounge kitchen diner is a great space for cooking and eating together. Spend long evenings at the beautiful wooden table before relaxing in one of the lounges next to the cosy wood stove. If the weather is fine, head out to the terrace for a night cap and some relaxation in the wood fired hot tub before bed. The enclosed garden is a real bonus for kids and dogs who need to let off some steam on the lawned areas and there are a number of private little corners for morning coffee and a quiet catch up with loved ones. The heated boot room is a handy extra to hang up wet coats and abandon muddy boots after a long day walking.
The 8 en suite bedrooms are a useful combination of kings, doubles and twins, suitable for a range of ages. The accommodation is all about beautiful wooden floors, luxury soft furnishings, masses of space. The 2 attic twins works well for kids/teens to hideout. 2 of the bedrooms are ground floor and 1 is wheelchair accessible with a wet room, a thought for anyone in the group who is less mobile.
Yorkshire Homestead is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire with the Moors on the doorstep, great walks for keen hikers and cyclists, there is a lovely local pub in walking distance too. Flamingo Land, Eden Camp and the Sealife Centre are close enough for a day out and are popular family destinations. Scarborough is a must visit seaside town, with a massive sandy beach, a 12th century castle and its own funicular train linking the town centre with South Bay and harbour. For a wilder experience with fewer tourists, try Robin Hoods Bay or Cayton Bay.
