Yorkshire is England’s largest county, stretching from the North Sea coast to the Pennine hills. It’s known for its national parks, rugged moors, and coastal towns. Cities such as York, Leeds, Hull and Sheffield offer busy dining and nightlife scenes, while the Dales and the North York Moors offer vast open landscapes that attract walker, cyclists and nature lovers. Historic market towns like Whitby, Richmond and Helmsley give easy access to both countryside and coast.

Yorkshire works well for large groups. Transport links by rail and road are excellent, which helps with meeting up from different parts of the country. The national parks have extensive paths for walking groups, and the coastline between Scarborough and Filey is lined with easy headland routes and wide beaches suited to long group walks or relaxed picnics. Towns and cities host year-round festivals, food markets and live music events, offering plenty to do as a group day or night.

Stay for the mix of historic sites, moorland and coast. York’s medieval walls, Minster and museums give a strong sense of the county’s past. The North York Moors Railway offers scenic group trips through classic moorland villages, and the Yorkshire Dales present limestone valleys, waterfalls and cave systems to explore. On the coast, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay are good for a day out, with seafood restaurants and cliffside trails. Groups can plan outdoor days around Malham Cove, Brimham Rocks or the Three Peaks area, and round them off with a pub visit in one of the many traditional Yorkshire towns.
