An oasis for walkers, cyclists, horse riders, families, groups of friends and youth and school groups alike.

Allendale Bunkhouse offers an exclusive self catering property ideal for groups of friends and families. Bedrooms offer double, single and some bunk beds, leaving ample space for travel cots, and most of our bedrooms are en suite.

Downstairs is a large open plan area with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area with seating for up to 26 and a lounge area with comfortable sofas to relax. Double French doors lead onto a patio area with steps into a small and secure garden. Beyond lies the large Manor garden with two bonfire pits, sun loungers, a sunset gin deck and play equipment, this garden can be used in conjunction with the Manor guests.

Brand new development: Completed in May 2021, the Allendale Bunkhouse now has a games and cinema room in the loft conversion. A fabulous second amenity space to relax and enjoy.

The Allendale Bunkhouse is located on the Market Place of Allendale Town amid the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Northumberland, a 15 minute drive from Hexham, 40 minutes from Newcastle or Carlisle. The market place has 2 lovely country pubs: The Lion House and the King's Head, both with pool table, darts, real fires.

The Forge art gallery, cafe and gift shop, a pharmacy and Allendale medical practice and the library are all a stone's throw away. Allendale also has a fabulous Indian Take Away just half a mile from the Bunkhouse. The Allendale Post Office has recently diversified and offers tasty takeaway meals and pizzas, please order in advance.

Just down the “Peth” you will find the River East Allen with a beautiful river walk, all the way to the lovely village of Catton with another fabulous cafe featuring views across the valley.

Facilities

Dog Friendly

Well behaved pets are welcome (max 2 dogs), but not in the bedrooms. A separate damage deposit will be taken.

Disabled Facilities

There are no disabled facilities in terms of lifts.

The Bunkhouse has WiFi.

Kitchen

The kitchen features a fully electric 4 oven large range cooker, large fridge freezer and larder cupboards providing plenty of storage space.

Dining Room

The dining area consists of several tables which can be positioned as islands or one large table to seat your party.

Sitting Room

The sitting area consists of a large corner sofa, foot stools and a further sofa with reading lights. It is adjacent to the dining area.

TV and Music Facilities

There is a large flat screen TV and a little stereo which can be used. There is also a TV in the attic games room.

Games Room

The new Games Room has a pool table, large TV and DVD player, pool table, reading chairs and play corner.

Heating and Open Fires

The entire building has central heating and plenty of hot water available at all times.

Bedrooms

There are 2 double bedrooms, 1 single room, 1 triple room, 1 quad room and 3 family rooms.

Linen

Linen is provided, beds are made up with a duvet and one pillow.

Bathrooms

There are 2 toilets downstairs, all en suite facilities on the 2nd floor and the 1st floor has 2 en suite rooms 2 rooms share.

Children's Facilities

Family friendly interconnecting bedrooms (rooms 6 and 7) as well as two playgrounds and a park in Allendale, 3 and 5 minute's walk from the Bunkhouse.

Outdoor

Patio area with outdoor seating and BBQ (available on request).

Swimming Pool

The nearest swimming pool is in Hexham, 10 minute drive from Allendale.

Parking

Parking is available in front of the Bunkhouse and on the market place, free of charge.

Smoking

No smoking inside the building, but there are designated outside smoking areas.

Location

The Bunkhouse is located on the market place in Allendale. The owners, Linda and Tony Beck, live next door in Victoria House.

Allendale Town has all typical country town facilities, like a well stocked Co-op, post office, gift shop, two cafes, 3 pubs, a pharmacy, a doctors' surgery, 2 playgrounds, an Indian Restaurant.
20 steps to the left. Larger shops, such as Tesco or Waitrose in Hexham, 12 miles.
10 steps to the left: The Kings Head, then the Golden Lion and across the market place is the Allendale Inn. There is a Indian restaurant a 15 minute walk away.
Newcastle International, about 35 miles.
Hexham, about 13 miles, or Haydon Bridge.
