Ardbrecknish House, an historic fortified 15th century tower house, is in a spectacular setting with breathtaking highland panoramic views. The house stands in 10 acres of woodland garden with an original one acre walled garden on the shore of Loch Awe.
Large groups are welcome and we are ideal for birthdays and reunions, with a bar and restaurant in the house perfect for your celebrations. We are happy to advise you on the best combinations of properties. There are also discounts for multiple-property bookings.
The apartments are spacious with large rooms full of character. West Wing, Summer Wing and The Study are perfect for a group, all being within the main house and with large living spaces.
The Ardbrecknish Room, with a large open fire and wood panelled ceiling, houses a friendly public bar serving fine ales and a range of malt whiskies - the ideal place to relax around the fire and chat with the locals. Play pool, darts or traditional Scottish carpet bowls and on occasion enjoy live music and dancing. Dinner is also available during the summer months, and out of season the Ardbrecknish Room can be used by groups for large celebration meals or parties.
The beautiful grounds are ideal for woodland and waterside walks and offer a hard tennis court, children’s play area, picnic and barbecue areas.
Adjacent to Ardbrecknish House is a fully equipped boat yard with boat hire and full launch facilities. Boats can be hired for fishing or exploring the many islands and castles on the 26 mile long loch.
Ardbrecknish has a fortunate location being off the beaten track, yet ideal as a touring centre. Apart from the attractions of Lochaweside and Argyll close by, an hour takes you to Loch Lomond, Argyll Forest Park, Crinan Canal, Mull of Kintyre, skiing and climbing
