Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Bessingham Manor, Holt, Norfolk, sleeps 4 - 28 in 10 bedrooms.

Bessingham Manor is ideal for large groups of family and friends to get together to enjoy holidays or for special celebrations and house parties.

The house has 10 beautiful bedrooms with great views, 6 en-suites and 2 family bathrooms. It also incorporates a self contained mews apartment which sleeps an extra 6 and is attached to the main house to provide additional space or the possibility to live separately whilst holidaying with friends. The mews has its own kitchen, shower room and private dog proof garden, wood burner and hot tub and can be hired as an extra.

Rescued from the brink of destruction, this beautiful property has been completely and sympathetically restored. Inside the style is elegant but relaxed; think four poster beds, slipper baths, elegant reception rooms and a wonderful Victorian kitchen.

We have two hot tubs available (extra charge), and extensive grounds are perfect for outside dining and games.

You enter another age as soon as you step into the grand entrance hall, complete with black and white marble flooring, and a large sweeping staircase. Enter the magnificent 14m long reception room with its beautiful bay windows, marble fireplace, chandeliers and French doors that lead out on to the garden – and you have found the perfect room for entertaining. For a more intimate space, cosy up in the study with its wood-burner and beautiful furniture.

The wonderful handmade Victorian kitchen with big pine table, and scullery with huge original butler sink, are ideal for catering and cooking for numbers. The grand dining room has original flagstone flooring and a large wood burner.

Although the house is secluded in its own private grounds on the edge of a tiny village, it's not far from the North Norfolk coast with many activities such as walking, swimming, sailing, horse riding. Alternatively relax on a sandy beach or go fossil hunting by the sea cliffs. There are many great Gastro pubs in the picturesque brick and flint villages. The nearby town of Holt has boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops, and Cromer pier is a short drive away. There are many impressive National Trust properties to visit.

The whole ground floor is on the same level without steps. The ground floor bedroom has a disabled accessible en suite wet room. Ramps are supplied.

The fabulous, flagstone floored kitchen is incredibly well equipped, with a large Aga and a further electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher.

This is a lovely room entered via a brick arch from the kitchen. 2 large tables, wood burner and sumptuous drapes provide a grand dining experience.

Sitting Room

Vast south facing room with windows on three sides, very bright and grand, chandeliers, beautiful cornicing, marble fireplace with plenty of seating.

TV and Music Facilities

Sky in both the drawing room and study. Further TV, DVD, radio.

Games Room

TV, Nintendo Wii, DVD player, loads of games including puzzles, board games, footballs.

Heating and Open Fires

Oil fired central heating with part underfloor heating on the ground floor. Wood burners in the study and dining room.

14 bedrooms: 9 en-suites, 2 family bathrooms, most with Victorian fireplaces: Super kings, four posters. 1 ground floor, family rooms, 1 single.

Linen

All bed linen and towels are supplied as standard with Egyptian cotton duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases.

En suite with roll top bath and separate shower, en suite with roll top bath, large en suite shower, 1 wet room, large family bathroom.

Children's Facilities

2 cots and 2 high chairs, along with child's toilet seat and child's step up. Some stair gates are provided although there are two staircases.

Outdoor

Large gas barbecue. Set in 5 acres of lawns and woodlands. Patio, large outdoor tables and chairs. Acres of well manicured lawns for outdoor games.

Parking

The house is approached from a minor lane, a long gravel drive terminates in a large gravelled parking area with turning drive around a wooded island.

Smoking

We have a no smoking policy within the house. People are free to smoke outside.

Booking Information

At time of booking 50% of the quoted price is payable with the balance plus a ÂŁ400 damage deposit fall due four weeks prior to the stay with the deposit refundable one week following the stay. From 4pm on the arrival date, to be vacated by 10am on the date of departure. Hot tub hire is ÂŁ200.

Bessingham Manor sits in its own grounds of 5 acres on the edge of the tiny village of Bessingham overlooking historic parkland grounds and the glorious rural unspoilt North Norfolk countryside behond

  • In the village of Bessingham.
  • Cromer is the nearest railway station being about a ten minute drive.
  • The house is almost equidistant (five miles approx) inland from the seaside towns of Sheringham, Cromer and the Georgian market town of Holt. It's about a half hour drive from Norwich.
  • The nearest shop is in the quintessential English village of Aldborough, 2 miles, with Cromer, Sheringham and Holt offering large supermarkets and a range of independent shops (5 miles approx).
  • Nearest pub is 2 miles in Aldborough overlooking the village green. Another great pub/ Gastro restaurant, the Gunton Arms, is 10 minute drive. Plenty of pubs, restaurants in nearby villages and Holt.
  • Norwich Airport is about half an hours drive from the house.
