Drovers Rest is a special and unique farm/barn wedding venue in stunning Herefordshire. Our concept is weekend weddings focusing on those wanting a more exclusive destination type wedding, where you will be surrounded by close friends and family who will celebrate with you from Friday to Sunday. We have beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, including our award winning Barn and outdoor areas.
Tucked away near Hay on Wye, on the border of Wales and Herefordshire, the stunning 16th century farm is surrounded by fields, common, farm and woodland, perfect for those wanting a Barn, outdoor or festival-style wedding.
Your wedding feast will catered on-site and cooked on open fires using produce grown right here on our organic farm or sourced locally.
Award winning on-site accommodation can house your guests in a mixture of stone cottages and posh safari glamping tents with private bathrooms – we have 9 accommodation units all sleeping 4, so space for 36.
Weddings at Drovers are unique with only a limited number per year ensuring your own unique taste, style and dreams are brought to life.
A typical wedding with us includes:
– Friday night drinks and pizza (cooked in our wood fired oven) around the fire bowl
– Saturday breakfast followed by everyone getting ready for the mock ceremony, followed by the wedding breakfast in the form of a high tea, posh picnic or cold and hot buffet. Guests can then mingle with drinks and photographs can be taken outdoors. Speeches and a seated evening meal follow, the meal being either a festival barbecue, an Indian Thali or a Caribbean Feast. Dancing follows, with a midnight snack of fish finger butties or hotdogs with proper sausages.
