This idyllic riverside holiday cottage near Shrewsbury is a lovely choice for a multi generation holiday or friends getting together for a big birthday. Set in the prettiest grounds with extensive lawns and landscaped gardens, what better place to meet up to make special memories. The property is newly renovated to create luxury living spaces combined with traditional features reminding us of its interesting history. And Marrington Mill has plenty of thoughtful outside additions including a hot tub and firepit, as well as a pretty footbridge over the River Camlad.
The kitchen is a great space for cooking together, and the separate dining room is fantastic for long suppers with great food and wine flowing. The patio is perfect on a warm evening for barbecues with the soothing sounds of the River Camlad and the happy noise of kids playing on the lawn while the grown ups relax over a cold beer. Marrington Mill has two lounges, popular with mixed age groups. The main sitting room has lots of sofa seating and a wood burning stove and the TV room an L-shaped sofa in front of a wide screened television.
Bedrooms certainly don't disappoint. Luxury accommodation offers a choice of superkings, a twin and a single, with faux fur throws and stylishly colourful soft furnishings. 2 have en suites and there is a large family bathroom to share.

Children will love the opportunities to play safely in the river and explore the wonderful grounds. There are walks from the door including the possibility of a stroll to the local pub in Chirbury for a pre-dinner pint. Montgomery is a small town with a castle with fascinating history as well as a choice of pubs and cafes for a lunch out. Welshpool is worth a look too, for the spectacular Powis Castle and Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway. Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire, a pretty town on the River Severn with its own museum and castle, shopping and a wider choice of bars and restaurants.
