Morland Manor is a beautiful Grade II detached farmhouse, sleeping 10, on the famous Ashton Estate, near Oundle. Named after the famous English artist George Morland, the house is most certainly a testament to the owner's love of art, especially old masters and sculptures. What makes this house even more special is that almost everything in the house is for sale!
The sitting room and dining room display impressive floor to ceiling panelling and the house is home to many antiques and works of art. The sitting room has comfy sofas and the dining room has a large round table which seats 10 people comfortably - perfect for a special celebration dinner with family or friends. The large kitchen has plenty of character, with a Belfast sink and Corian worktops. There's also a boot and utility room with washer and dryer, and another Belfast sink. On the ground floor there is also a double bedroom and a large shower with WC.
On the first floor are 2 twin bedrooms and 2 kings, 1 of them with en suite facilities. There's also another bathroom and separate WC.
There is a large private garden at Morland Manor, and a woodland area. The garden includes the use of your very own Shepherds Hut!
The House is located within a historic country estate created at the turn of the 19th century renowned for its beautiful and ecologically important woodland. The house faces the historic cricket field and displays the most spectacular sunsets. Nearby is Rutland Water which offers fishing, sailing and good walking and cycling routes. Several stately homes are also nearby and worth a visit.
In 1900 Lord Rothschild commissioned William Huckvale to design not only a house, but a model farm, and an entire complement of estate buildings which included Morland Manor (formerly known as the Steward’s house). Morland Manor was built for the estate manager and was until recently occupied by the estate manager, the most recent of which lived there for over 45 years!
