Situated on a substantial sized working farm, Big Drift Barn and Fairchilds Barn offer a great opportunity for friends and family groups to spend quality time together at anytime of year. These properties in beautiful Rutland provide a space for some much needed rest, relaxation and fun at a central location.
The barns are newly renovated with open plan living inside, creating sociable and airy spaces across two floors. The lounge areas in both barns are light and stylishly decorated with contemporary sofas, Sky Q HD TVs and the all important wood burning stoves. To top it off, bi-fold doors lead out onto attractive decked areas with hot tubs and seating to chill out, chat and take in the pretty surrounding hill views.
Preparing a meal in the well equipped kitchens is easy with dining for 8 in each although all guests can gather on the adjoining patio areas for a barbecue. It is also possible for the owners to arrange outside catering for a special celebration.
Owner Louise has thought of everything in this renovation. Both barns have ramp access and ground floor bedrooms with wet room facilities - ideal for those with mobility issues, and making the farm a perfect destination for multi-generational parties. The bedrooms, a mix of kings and twins, give options to keep everyone happy. There are X Boxes in 2 of the rooms in one barn and PlayStations in 2 of the rooms in the other barn.
Visitors can enjoy walks from the door and there is plenty of space to allow the children to let off steam. The grounds back on to the owners' woodland where you have permission to build a fire, toast marshmallows or even camp overnight. Rutland is a walking and cycling paradise with its numerous footpaths and bridleways or perhaps take a 20 minute stroll to local Caldecott for a good pub meal and a pint.
Local attractions include Rockingham Castle,10 minutes away, where events such as Christmas markets and an open air cinema take place, and the Aqua Park at Rutland Water 20 minutes away. Uppingham, Oakham, Stamford and Market Harborough has a nice selection of shops and eateries.
