Family and group bunkhouse on Brownsea Island off Poole with beach access and sleeping 12 for adventure breaks with friends
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. National Trust - South Shore Lodge, Brownsea, Dorset, sleeps 3 - 12 in 3 bedrooms.
Sorry, no hen or stag groups at this property.
South Shore Lodge is a Victorian conversion bunkhouse with sea views, located on Brownsea Island, a Site of Special Interest, owned and managed by the National Trust. A simple but comfortable choice, this bunkhouse benefits from a truly special setting, with beach access and spectacular views.
Sleeping up to 12 across 3 dormitories each sleeping 4, this holiday bunkhouse near Poole is ideally suited to youth and special interest groups, as well as families and groups of friends. There’s a well equipped kitchen, a large open plan sitting/dining/games room, separate communal shower and toilet block and a large unenclosed garden with patio and barbecue area.
You will need to catch the ferry from Poole Harbour or Sandbanks and then walk to the bunkhouse from the ferry jetty (approximately 30 minutes). Brownsea Island does not have a shop so you will need to come prepared and be able to carry your food and luggage to the bunkhouse! However, there is a small cafe serving hot food and drinks which is open between March and October. There is an abundance of wildlife on the island including red squirrel, deer and birds of prey, and lots of walking trails and water outlets to discover. The bunkhouse is adjacent to a campsite.
The perfect island adventure for those who love the outdoors. Please note that this bunkhouse does not take hen or stag groups.
For larger groups, there is additional accommodation on the island - please enquire.
