Large holiday house and garden lodge sleeping up to 20 for family and friends groups on the Fowey Estuary
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. The Old Sawmills, Golant, Fowey, Cornwall, sleeps 4 - 20 in 9 bedrooms.
Set in its very own tidal creek on the banks of the river Fowey, The Old Sawmills is a haven of tranquillity. No roads or neighbours and nestled in acres of woodland, the location alone is stunningly beautiful.
While staying at the Old Sawmills you have the feeling of being on your own island, as access to the Sawmills is by boat... yet you can walk out any time, along the scenic footpath of the Saints Way. The Old Sawmills is an ideal base for visiting Cornwall, or a perfect setting for simply relaxing and watching the tide lap in.
The house has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. A conservatory, patio and barbecue terrace provide plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Nearly all the rooms have stunning views over the water. A maximum of 16 can be accommodated in the house.
For larger groups, there is also the option of The Lodge which sits around 50m away from the main house and sleeps up to a further 5 guests. Nestled on the edge of woodland and overlooking the creek, its location makes it a wonderful hide for watching wildlife. Deer have been known to roam into the garden and peer through the windows, whilst kingfishers and other birds can be observed at close proximity. The Lodge is set in its own contained and gated garden so pets and small children can be kept from wandering.
The Sawmills is an ideal base for walkers as there are several exceptional coast and country side walks that can be joined right from the doorstep of the Sawmills including the Saints Way. Fishing too can be enjoyed on site and boats can be hired from Fowey and delivered to you at the Sawmills. Canoe and kayak hire is available in the nearest village, Golant.
The nearest pub is only a 15 minute walk away also in Golant. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms in nearby Fowey and some superb beaches and coves in the vicinity.
