Matlock Farm Park is close by and there is Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock, Carsington Water for water sports and outdoor pursuits is a little farther and then on to Alton Towers and its famous theme park rides. Or visit Chatsworth House, one of the best preserved stately homes in Britain, with magnificent grounds; or Haddon Hall and Tissington Hall close by. There is excellent walking, hiking, cycling, fishing and many other outdoor pursuit centres all around the Peak District. Go caving, take a boat ride down in the depths of the Blue John Cavern, or try paragliding, soaring over Stanage Edge or Mam Tor (Mother Mountain).
