Low Bank Ground provides residential and instructor-led activity breaks to youth and school groups. The location in the Lake District close to the shores of Coniston water mean there’s easy access to a wealth of experiences for your group – choose from a wide range of water-based and land-based activities to create a package which works best for your group. Our activity plans are carefully scheduled to encourage team work as well as instilling a sense of autonomy and resilience in individuals– key attributes for encouraging personal growth and independence.
Low Bank Ground is comprised of 4 main buildings. 2 of the buildings, Highfield and Rough Close, provide self-contained accommodation, alongside a separate building that hosts the dining facilities for catered breaks. The 4th building is Yew Tree Lodge that provides additional changing facilities and informal indoor activity space for games and free time complete with a football table, pool table, darts board and various equipment for ball games and badminton. Yew Tree can be used as a multi-functional space for presentations, meetings and team building in wet weather.
The site is fully risk assessed and groups are welcome and encouraged to explore the gardens and grounds, particularly as we have a number of orienteering markers on the site and in the fields to be used by groups either in an instructor-led or self-led scenario.
