At the Manor, Norton St Philip, Bath, Somerset

The Manor was an old Grange where the Lord of the Manor once resided, the Carthusian Monks lived here too in Tudor times. This impressively spacious property has been revamped since then with a large sociable corner sofa in the sunny entertaining room and a long oak table for 15 guests. A wood burning stove keeps your toes nice and warm and a tasteful collection of antique furniture adds to the authentic feel of this lovely property.

On the ground floor there is a fully fitted secret kitchen just off the huge entertaining room. A wonderful spiral oak staircase leads up to the 1st floor bedrooms.

On the first floor, 'The Mead' (6' double or twin) has a shower en suite. 'Lyde Green'(6' double plus 1 or 2 single beds) is our four poster room and has a large en suite with separate bath and shower. Both rooms have large sunny windows overlooking the front of the manor.

On the top floor with the wonderful old beams of the manor and fabulous views of the surrounding countryside is the 'Flowers' room (6' double or twin plus optional single bed), which has an adjacent bathroom with bath and separate shower, and ‘Monks room’ (5' double with optional 1 or 2 additional single beds) which has a shower en suite. On the top floor there is a further room with twin/double bed/s and a very comfortable double sofa bed in the upstairs sitting room, along with a second fully fitted kitchen.

There are two pretty courtyard gardens with tables and seating to the front and rear of Manor Farm House.

A children's play park and field is 1 minute away near the large local supermarket in the village. There are some great countryside walks right from the doorstep and some exciting cycle rides into Bath through the newly re-opened disused rail tunnel.

Visit National Trust and English Heritage properties, Longleat Safari Park, Frome Farmers' Market is brilliant! Bristol, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, Wells, Babington House and Longleat Safari Park are also an easy day trip.
