Three Gables is a stylish and comfortable detached house in a quiet village location with stunning panoramic country views and a private enclosed garden. The house has a lovely light and airy feel and is well insulated to ensure it is warm and cosy on cooler days. Solar thermal panels provide the hot water during the summer months and, along with our solar photovoltaic panels, help reduce our carbon footprint. We also have a Zappi EV charger.
The garden is suitable for children, fenced to ensure safety, with a decked area, patio and lawns, sit and enjoy the views. A barbecue, outdoor furniture and games are provided.
With the island measuring just 23 miles long and 13 miles wide, the sea and spectacular heritage coastline is never far away. It is a place of rewarding pleasures, including rock pooling, fishing for crabs, building sandcastles, deckchairs on the sand, fossil hunting and dreaming. There are plenty to choose from and something to suit everyone in the family! Our nearest beach is Yarmouth, approx 3 miles, and a 5 mile drive (10 minutes) gets you to Brook or Compton, both spectacular, natural, sandy beaches, with no commercialism. A 30 minute drive gets you to Ventnor, Sandown or Shanklin beaches, which have shops, cafes and other attractions.
For the energetic, there are plenty of sporting opportunities including golfing, sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, paragliding, fishing and horse riding. The Island has over 300 walks with over 500 miles of well-maintained footpaths, the network of bridleways and footpaths which surround the area making this an ideal location for enjoying the countryside.
There is a shop 2 minutes walk away (open March - Nov) and a pub 1.5 miles away. It's an easy drive to local towns for shopping and the many tourist attractions around the island. The county town of Newport is only 6 miles away and historic Yarmouth just 3 miles.
