Visit the Hamam Omerye in the heart of the old town to experience traditional Turkish baths; check out the traditional shopping district running along Ledra street for jewellery, shoes and fabrics; and the historic architecture and souvenir shops of pedestrianised Laiki Geitonia. Nicosia district is also home to the Trodos Mountains, with their well-preserved medieval churches; Kykkos Monastery; and the village of Kakopetri.
