Eagle Crag is a well-equipped self-catering bunkhouse in a beautiful woodland setting with privacy, open-space and parking. The setting, near to Lake Windermere and Ambleside in the heart of the Cumbrian Lake District, makes this a fantastic choice for walking and outdoor activity groups.

Accommodating up to 24 people in dorm style bunk rooms, and with sole occupancy, Eagle Crag is ideal for a large family and friends get-together, or any other large group. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area able to seat the whole group, with a large seating space. A TV room has bean bags and comfy chairs, and there's table tennis too.

Located within woodlands, the combination of sweeping farmland, a backdrop of mountains and a comfortable, friendly environment ensure the best conditions for a memorable experience.

Eagle Crag provides additional source of income for the Brathay Trust (Registered Charity no. 1021586) whose mission is to improve the life chances of children, young people and families by inspiring them to engage positively in their communities.

Facilities

Well equipped kitchen with a large oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a kitchenette with a hot water boiler, sink and fridge.
This seats up to 24 people on wooden benches.
There is a large group space, along with 2 smaller rooms elsewhere in the building.
There is a TV room located in the building with bean bags and comfy chairs.
Mobile reception for most networks.
There is a ping pong table in a games room at the back of the building.
Central heating.
5 dormitory rooms that sleep 4 each. 2 rooms at the back of the building that sleep 2 in each (bunk and twin room).
Please bring own sleeping bags, pillows and towels. However, linen and towels can be added for an additional charge, please ask on booking.
2 shower rooms (one male, one female), toilets for female and male, plus 1 shower and toilet room in the back of the building.
Disabled access - please let us know prior to arrival for this.
No special facilities but a great place for them, with freedom to make lots of noise!
Set in a bounded woodland.
There is no swimming pool.
Ample space for at least 8 cars.
No smoking inside please. Designated area outside the front door.
Pets are not allowed in the property.

Location

Near Ambleside in the Lake District National Park. Just off the B5286 towards Hawkshead - turn into Main Entrance to Brathay Hall and follow signs to reception.
