This Carsington long barn is perfect for short breaks away from the office with a small group of colleagues, for meetings or team development. Emily Barn is accessed via major road links so is suitable for colleagues meeting from different parts of the UK.
Emily Barn is really close to Carsington Water where there are so many activities on offer, great for team building and personal development. The owner can put you in touch with the best companies who organise outdoor pursuits such as paddle boarding, canoeing or kayaking on the reservoir. An 8 mile circular hike or cycle is also a good idea to get delegates ready for some productive blue sky thinking. The village pub, the Miners Arms, is 500 yards away and is highly recommended for food and ales, perfect for some well deserved down time.
The barn itself has a very well equipped kitchen with a double oven, dishwasher and separate utility room so self catering is a viable option. If you would prefer a catered stay, the owners use a great local chef who can come and do it all for you. The dining table seats 14 so is a handy spot for a board meeting and the lounge for similar. There are various useful corners where breakaway groups can gather including the rather spacious bedrooms and enclosed garden.
Accommodation has a mix of king, double and singles and can sleep 15 in proper beds over 6 rooms. There are supplementary sofa beds and a futon available for larger numbers if required. Family bedrooms have plenty of space and are comfortable places to unwind after a long day. There is 1 en suite upstairs and 3 bathrooms on the ground floor.
Also available at Swiers Farm is a converted milking parlour, now a pretty 2 double bedroomed cottage, Daisy Cottage with a double sofa bed in the lounge.
