Goodnestone Park offers the chance to stay in a beautiful and impressive Palladian country house, newly restored and renovated to include all mod cons with a contemporary feel whilst retaining exceptional original features and a sense of history. Gorgeous fabrics, interesting artwork and thoughtfully designed or chosen furniture create a calm and inviting atmosphere.
Sleeping up to 24, Goodnestone House is the ideal setting for a special occasion or celebration, or even a quiet country weekend away with friends and family. Grand enough to provide an elegant backdrop to an important occasion, relaxed enough to enjoy with children.
The house boasts a range of reception rooms, some formal such as the beautiful drawing room, others such as the library providing a tranquil space perfect for curling up with a good book. The opulent dining room, with numerous dramatic features and splendid view, has hosted many elegant dinners, with seating for 24 around a magnificent table. For a more informal occasion, or for relaxed breakfasts, a separate room just off the kitchen can seat 14.
The kitchen is the informal hub of Goodnestone, with an open plan layout. Equipped with state of the art appliances, there's everything you could need to self cater for a large group. Alternatively, why not pass some or all of the responsibility to our preferred caterers.
12 stunning and individually designed bedrooms provide a further touch of luxury. Most have en suite facilities, and all enjoy gorgeous views of the surrounding parkland.
The spectacular 15 acre gardens at Goodnestone are widely known for their classical planting schemes and are of historical interest. Part of these gardens are open to the public, but guests also enjoy the private gardens near the house. A south facing terrace is perfect for drinks, dining al fresco or a barbecue, with plenty of seating and exceptional views.
Let us help you organise activities for your stay - choose from a spot of pampering or yoga, riding, clay shooting or archery, a round at one of Kent's many golf clubs, or a vineyard tour or wine tasting session in house. We can also recommend local restaurants and pubs.
