Coastal holiday house near Dartmouth sleeping 12 with a games room, for active family weekends and exploring south Devon
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. National Trust - Higher Brownstone Farm, Devon, sleeps 6 - 12 in 6 bedrooms.
Sorry, no hen or stag groups at this property.
Get everyone together for a stay in this wonderful farmhouse on a quiet country lane in Devon, where you can spend some quality time with your friends or family. It's an ideal spot to celebrate a birthday too, or a university reunion.
The National Trust's Higher Brownstone Farm looks nothing like its name would suggest, a gleaming white rendered farmhouse with large Georgian windows looking out over fields. You'll love the space too, with 6 bedrooms sleeping 12, and a full-size billiard table in a games room for hosting competitions long into the night. There's also a kitchen with breakfast bar, enormous sitting room and dining room with parquet flooring. And there's plenty of spots to get away from it all as well; the hallway upstairs and downstairs has little nooks perfect for curling up with a book and a cup of tea whilst gazing out over the open countryside. There's lots of flexibility with the bedrooms too, so the 3 twins on the first floor can also be set up as doubles, depending on the make-up of your party.
If you're taking an outdoor-loving group, then make this charming house your base for exploring all that the South Devon coast has to offer, from wild beaches to riverbanks and sweet little towns. You can walk to Kinsgwear from the cottage door, and see the pastel coloured houses tumbling towards the harbour opposite you in Dartmouth. You can also hop on a ferry to stroll the Dartmouth streets yourself. Or join the Coast Path in the other direction and either head to the beach at Scabbacombe, or head further afield to well-known Riviera towns like Torquay, Paignton or Brixham. The National Trust properties of Coleton Fishacre (Higher Brownstone Farmhouse sits within its grounds), a 1920s house with gardens, and Agatha Christie's house, Greenway, are also walkable from the farmhouse.
