Orchard House sits in a glorious valley in Monmouthshire next to the legendary Jareta stables where classical Spanish horses are bred and trained, and where the owners live. For lovers of “Dark Skies” and unspoilt countryside, it’s a very precious place. The estate is extensive, with fields, walking trails, Llangovan Brook, a 40 acre cider orchard and the beautiful Gaer Wood (Gaer meaning Fort). There are spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons from nearby, and a stunning display of the rare British Bluebells in spring, with the accompanying heady scent all about you.
Orchard House is a special and unspoiled place and is ideal for family occasions, birthday celebrations, reunions, and holiday breaks. Please note that this property is not suitable for raucous parties or amplified music.
The House is a luxurious, light-filled, 9 bedroom, 8 bathroom retreat sleeping up to 24 (plus a room with a double sofa bed) with a games room, large TV lounge and disabled facilities.
There's lots to enjoy in the area on your weekend away. You can walk through the fields and private woodland, cycle on the lanes with virtually no cars in the Monmouthshire countryside, canoe or cruise the nearby River Wye, enjoy unlimited local outdoor activities and eat and drink at a collection of award winning pubs and restaurants. If you want something a little less energetic you can just relax on the terrace with a drink and enjoy watching buzzards drift over the cider orchards below you and listen to the sound of the horses in the neighbouring fields.
Orchard House lies in a setting designated a remarkable natural landscape in an area of outstanding natural beauty, 10 minutes from Monmouth and 20 minutes from the Severn Bridge.
