Fieldgate Farmstead is an exciting and romantic wedding celebration venue, set within an acre of open countryside in the stunning Lowther Valley within the World Heritage site of the Lake District National Park. This venue offers a beautiful setting for a country wedding party, with the option to extend your stay to a mini holiday for your guests, with breathtaking panoramic Lakeland views and an abundance of scenery, wildlife, history and culture to enjoy nearby.

The events barn has been lovingly restored from original farm buildings to create a space full of rustic chic providing the perfect venue for small celebration gatherings including weddings, as well as birthdays and other events. The Farmstead can host celebrations of up to 50/60 guests. The agricultural barn is spacious with attractive lighting, and has plenty of adjacent paved outside space with barbecues, pub style tables and a fire pit, allowing your party to spill into the outdoors if the weather permits. And there’s space for the erection of a marquee to complement the space in the barn. The barn offers a completely blank canvas allowing you to choose a layout to suit your individual preferences, and the freedom to create your own style, with a colour scheme and personal touches to make your wedding celebration unique!

We work with a great caterer and can put you in touch, to create the celebration feast of your choice. Or you can bring in suppliers of your choice.

The Farmstead enjoys a rural setting with no close neighbours, so noise is not an issue, and there are areas for easy parking for lots of vehicles on site. And there’s the added benefit of on-site self catering accommodation in both the Grade II listed Georgian style farmhouse, with its modern conversion and extension, and a traditional Cumbrian stone barn conversion. The total of 15 bedrooms offer luxurious accommodation for up to 38 of your wedding party (when using sofa beds too), allowing you to make a weekend of memories.

Facilities

Dog Friendly

We are dog friendly and we welcome you to bring your dog to Fieldgate Farmstead. There will be a one-off charge of £40 per dog for the extra cleaning.

Accessibility

No specific facilities although there is one twin beds bedroom in the house, and two ground floor en suite bedrooms in the barn.

Hot Tub

We don't have a hot tub but we can hire one in for you on request.

WiFi

Free WiFi.

Kitchen

Spacious, each property has a fully equipped kitchen w/an island. 7 ring cooker/ovens, 2 dishwashers, fridge/freezer, microwave. No washing machine.

Dining Room

Groups are able to dine together in the dining room of both the house and the barn.

Sitting Room

Both properties have been carefully restored, yet retain its classy charm and character with modern luxury. Each property has 2 sitting rooms.

TV and Music Facilities

Each property has 2 sitting rooms, and 2 TVs in each property.

Games Room

The house has a library-games room with a small snooker table.

Heating and Open Fires

Both house and the barn have the combination of underfloor heating and radiators. The house has an open fireplace and barn has a log burner.

Bedrooms

A total of 15 bedrooms with a mix of kings, doubles, twins and bunks.

Linen

Linen and bath towels are provided. Please note there is no washing machine at the property.

Bathrooms

Several en suite bathrooms, separate shower rooms and separate WCs.

Outdoor

Occupies one acre of garden in open countryside. Mature garden, large patios area for outdoor sitting and for barbecues. A masonry charcoal BBQ.

Parking

Private parking for each property. Easy access for minibus and an additional back gate entrance.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the house or barn.
