Prosen Hostel sleeps 18, and is available with exclusive use, but there are other self catering cottages available in the glen for hire as well as camping in the garden. The village hall is available to hire for a larger indoor space for celebrations and events, if required.

Prosen Hostel near Kirriemuir offers a complete escape from the stresses of modern life, perfect for all kinds of groups including family parties, stag or hen parties, reunions, business, school, college or youth groups, and activity holidays with a group of friends. Located in one of the 5 Angus Glens with southernmost access to the Cairngorms, there are excellent walking trails and footbridges to enjoy from the door and plenty of indigenous wildlife to look out for on the way to bagging 2 Munros at the top of the glen.
Accommodation at the hostel is very comfortable, convenient and warm for a mixed gathering.The wood fired boiler and oil boiler guarantee that the hot water never runs out, particularly important for keen walkers and cyclists. A well equipped kitchen makes group meal prep a breeze and the dining area is a great space in which to sit down and eat together. The lounge with relaxed seating and a wood burner is the ideal place to chill out at the end of a busy day on the hills. A raised dais in the lounge gives views out over the glen and of the red squirrels playing in the garden, a real treat. Prosen Hostel welcomes dogs and horses, with stabling available.
There is a seating area outside with a barbecue hut and a firepit, the perfect way to spend an evening making plans, also a great spot for stargazing away from bright city lights.
When it's time to head to bed you will find 4 dorm style bedrooms with large wooden bunks, 3 sleeping 4 and 1 sleeping 6. The sleeps 4 has 2 single beds as well as bunks. There are 4 shower rooms with piping hot water as well as a wet room for anyone less mobile.
Kirriemuir is under 20 minutes from the hostel, often referred to as the Gateway to the Glens and interestingly the birthplace of J M Barrie, the author of Peter Pan. The journey from Kirriemuir to Glen Prosen is stunning, passing forests, burns and moorlands before arriving in one of Scotland's most tranquil destinations. The Glen Prosen Circuit is known to be a very popular hiking trail in this area. Red and roe deer, black grouse, ptarmigan, otters, red kites, woodcock, curlew, oystercatchers, lapwings and even golden eagles are regularly spotted in this fascinating wilderness. Only a couple of glens away from Glenshee Ski Centre.
