This luxury bunkhouse is a brilliant choice for wedding parties looking for a venue for up to 36, close to lots of fantastic Afan Valley wedding venues. Margam Orangery is only 15 minutes, Glyn Clydach Hotel 30 minutes and a range of hotels in Swansea also within half an hour. Really convenient for friends and family travelling from different areas, just 25 minutes from the M4 and A465.

What could be more perfect than a venue that used to be a chapel in a previous life. Afan Forest Bunkhouse can host small and intimate weddings in a space that has been designed to retain original features such as arched windows, a gallery mezzanine and high ceilings, yet offers warm, comfortable accommodation with high end style features. The dining table is where the chapel aisle used to be and is a lovely area for a wedding breakfast prepared by local private caterers. After dinner coffees can be enjoyed in the lovely lounge areas dotted around the property, including a special spot next to a Norwegian wood burner. On a sunny day, perhaps host a small drinks reception on the patio outside and take in the pretty views. A separate self contained apartment is a perfect space for the happy couple to stay in.

The beauty of this bunkhouse is that it is a great choice for a longer stay. Why not suggest gathering the clans for the whole weekend to make the most of being together. Arrive on a Friday and arrange an activity for everyone to enjoy, either walking or cycling locally or some well being time in the attractive mezzanine retreat space. Maybe pop into Glyncorrwg Hall, a traditional local pub for a pint before supper and a game of pool or darts.

If you are staying at Afan Forest for a couple of nights, head to the Neath Valley and waterfall country. Particularly impressive is Sgwyd Y Eira, a waterfall that you can actually stand behind. Swansea is a popular coastal city with impressive beaches and an up and coming café culture. Discover the Brecon Beacons in an hour.

The property is centrally heated throughout with a Norwegian Jotul model 6 wood burner in the lounge and 2 more wood stoves, one in each apartment.

6 rooms with sturdy custom built triple bunks and a single. 1 quad room with 2 bunks. 1 dorm room with 5 bunks and a double. 6 rooms are en suite.

9 en suite shower wet rooms, one shower wet room on the same level as the lounge.

Outdoor

Outdoors there is a private patio and firepit. Mountain and valley and village views. There is a mountain river by the car park.

Location

Located in the village of Glyncorrwg in the Afan Forest Park. Port Talbot and the M4 is 25 minutes. Swansea 40 minutes. Neath Valley waterfalls 45 minutes. Brecon Beacons about an hour.

Maesteg
There is a small supermarket in the village. A Tesco Aldi and Asda in Maesteg. A number of supermarkets will deliver to the Chapel, including Tesco and Asda.
The Corrwg Cwtch is a cafe in a mountain bike centre, next to Afanablast - a bike shop at the bottom of the mountain bike trails.
Cardiff Airport is an hour away.
