Fairfield House is situated in a quiet residential location, close to the River Wye, with far reaching views over the Derbyshire countryside from the garden and master bedroom, one of five freshly decorated bedrooms. An ideal holiday venue for 5 couples or families.

Fairfield is just a short walk into the quintessentially English village of Ashford in the Water. Walk to Bakewell either along the main Buxton/Bakewell road (past the fabulous Thornbridge Brewery), or follow the path through the fields along the River Wye. For those looking for more than a stroll, you are truly spoiled for choice, with lush green limestone country from your doorstep contrasting sharply with the earthy heather moorland of the gritstone (typical of the Dark Peak) just a mile or so away.

Anyone who can ride a bike will love the Monsal Trail, the disused railway line from Bakewell, which gently ventures through tunnels, lush landscape and over the Headstone Viaduct. There are plenty of tearooms and pubs at which to replenish fluids along the way! Cycle hire is available at both ends of the trail, or bring your own bikes and secure them in the bike store in the lockable garden shed.

Most of the main Derbyshire tourist attractions are accessible by public transport from Bakewell. If you tire of picnics on the banks of the river or afternoon tea in one of the lovely tearooms, then on foot, by car or by bus, you have unlimited attractions and places to visit. Chatsworth House with its adventure playground and farmyard is an essential day out for the whole family. Haddon Hall is another stately home well worth a visit.

However you choose to spend your time, you'll love the space and comfort of Fairfield House. The fabulous open-plan kitchen/dining/lounge area is a perfect hub for the whole group - a place to eat, lounge and socialise together with lots of light from the ceiling skylight and double doors to the outside space. The catering facilities are all you could wish for to rustle up sumptuous suppers or a good old fry-up.

The garden is fabulous, with uninterrupted views over hills and fields, its lawn and decking/seating area perfect for a spot of daydreaming.

Stylish, contemporary, with double patio doors and skylight. Rangemaster oven with 5 gas hobs. American style fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher.
Dining table comfortably seats 10 guests and is part of the impressive open-plan kitchen/dining/lounge space. Breakfast bar with 3 bar stools.
Front facing, bay windowed lounge with log burner. Lounge area to seat 5-7 guests around the log burner at the far end of the kitchen/dining room.
2 TVs each with Freeview and DVD player. Sound bar for music.
WiFi available.
There is no games room.
Underfloor heating. Two log-burning stoves.
Five bedrooms (one ground floor) - four have king-sized or twin option and one has full-sized bunk beds. All freshly decorated and well furnished.
Fresh linen (all beds made ready for arrival). Bath towel and hand towel for each guest in bedrooms.
Main bathroom with shower enclosure. Master bedroom has an en suite shower room. Downstairs WC. Both bathrooms are new and beautifully finished.

Large, secure garden. 1 travel cot and 2 high chairs available on request.
Large, private, 3-tier garden comprising patio, lawn and decked terrace for outside dining. Charcoal BBQ and chiminea (please provide own coal/logs).
There is no swimming pool at the property. There is a public swimming pool in the centre of Bakewell, a mile from Fairfield House.
Private parking on driveway for 4 to 5 vehicles.
No smoking inside the property, please.
A maximum of two dogs are welcome if pre-arranged and on the basis that they are not permitted upstairs.

Location

Glorious Peak District, full of beautiful villages, breathtaking scenery, walks and cycle paths. 5 minute drive to Chatsworth House, 12 mins to Buxton. World class climbing routes around Hathersage.
Bakewell (famous for its pudding) 1 mile away. Farmers' Market - last Saturday in every month. Agricultural market day every Monday. Public swimming pool, park and playground. River Wye runs through.
Village shop in Ashford in the Water (1 minute drive) or Co-op (3 minute drive) in Bakewell, plenty of wonderful independent shops. Chatsworth Farm Shop (about a 5 minute drive) is an absolute must.
The Ashford Arms (1800's) overlooking the River - food, family oriented, Sunday roasts. Bulls Head (17th century coaching inn) also in Ashford - food and cask ales. Great restaurants in Bakewell.

Manchester Airport is approx. 35 miles (1 hour by car). East Midlands Airport 50 miles (around 1 hour 5 minute drive). Leeds Bradford Airport 65 miles (1 hour 40 mins by car).
