Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Allenheads Lodge, Allenheads, Northumberland, sleeps 2-24 in 4 bedrooms.
Allenheads Lodge is a former Methodist Church with lots of character and charm. The lodge is owned and operated by Springboard, a charity that operates across the region and aims to support the development of sustainable communities, where people have the skills needed for work and life.
Springboard operates multi activity adventure residentials for its learners as well as for other external groups. Primarily the lodge is available for use by groups and individuals who are taking part in activities in the local area and on cycling holidays. The C2C cycle route is one of the most popular cycle challenge routes in the UK, our lodge is ideal for the second or third night of the route and is literally on the road the route runs along. Our lodge and activity packages are available for everyone from corporate groups, stag and hen parties to families and groups or young adults. Get in touch and we will create an adventure package that you will never forget.
The lodge has a kitchen capable of feeding hungry hikers, bikers and families so if you would like to cook for yourselves that's totally fine with us. We don't offer evening meals but there are a number of options locally, 2 within walking distance and several in the closest town of Allendale (7 miles). The Allenhead's Inn, a 10 minute walk, has evening meals and a range of ales and drinks - a typical country pub with a lot of character, people are always made welcome and the fire is always on. Meals generally need to booked in advance because it can be busy. The Hemmel cafe is open all day and can open in the evenings as well, it offers a range of food and drink as well as some crafts. The Hemmel is a short walk too and is next to the pub.
The lodge layout is great for several small groups or with exclusive use for large groups of up to 24 people. Split over two floors, downstairs is the kitchen, communal dining/living area and also the gents washroom and drying room. Upstairs is the ladies washroom and four bedrooms with sturdy wooden bunk beds.
And if you want to venture further afield, both Newcastle and Hexham are within easy reach.
Checkout time is by 10.30 am each day. Please get in touch with your group size and activity requirements.
