Avon Tyrrell, UK Youth Outdoor Activity centre is located in 65 acres of stunning grounds in the New Forest National Park. Open for day visitors and residential groups from friends and family to schools, youth groups and corporates, Avon Tyrrell provides an extensive range of challenging and exciting outdoor adventure and field studies activities as well as multiple learning and development opportunities for everyone. Perfect for a day out or a short break away and suitable for all ages.

Accommodation options to suit all budgets include full-board in the Grade I listed House that sleeps up to 110, self-catering in the 7 lodges ranging from 6-14 berth and sleeping up to 64 people to camping from March – October. We can tailor a package with activities just for you and what your group wants to achieve during your stay.

As a registered charity we are fully committed to providing outdoor learning, development training, activity holidays and breaks for everyone and many of the activities are linked to the National Curriculum .

With sports courts, an outdoor swimming pool, fishing lakes, bike hire, tracks and self guided sessions, you can experience this unique place at your own leisure. Groups are welcome to stay on site and carry out their own activities or choose from a range of adventurous and field studies sessions that are available on site.

With no other trail centres around to challenge intermediate and expert riders, as well as teaching beginners, BikeRide at Avon Tyrrell will provide you with what you need to hit the tracks!

We have knowledge and industry expertise with qualified and passionate staff so we can guarantee you will get the most out of your stay. As a Youth work charity, your visit will not only then benefit you and your group, but will also help support our work with young people all across the UK.

Family and Friends are welcome to come and enjoy a short break here at Avon Tyrrell. We have a range of outdoor Fundays for 5-12 years, Go Adventure Activity sessions for children and adults, plus family events and FREE to use trim trail, adventure play area and bouldering wall.

Facilities

Full board includes; cooked breakfast, hot meal and salad bar at lunch and a hot meal in the evening everyday. Other catering options are available.
This seats up to 110 guests at a time.
There is a large drawing room and a smaller sitting room situated next to it that includes a bar for house guests.
We have a large plasma TV and most facilities are available on request.
Reception for most mobile phone signals is very good and we have public Wi-Fi available in the House, in Avon Lodge and in reception also.
For House guests there is a pool table and football table. Outside there is a large chess, draughts and chequers board for everyone to enjoy.
The house can be heated and log fires are available in the Drawing Room and Bar. You can also hire out the fire pit outside for a group campfire.
We have varying sized bedrooms in 3 areas of the house, allowing a male and female divide if required. Some are dormitory style, some are twin.
Bedding is provided in the main house but only provided on request for the lodges (there is a small charge.) Guests should provide their own towels.
There are showers, toilets and disabled facilities on every floor of the house and bathrooms and wet rooms for accessibility in the Lodges.
Avon Tyrrell is a fully accessible centre and takes pride in its disabled facilities, being able to provide appropriate accommodation for all guests.
We cater for all children and young people's needs and have an on site play area as well as activity sessions and Fundays specifically for children.
Toilet and shower blocks are located around the site with accessible facilities, BBQ's available, outdoor dining areas, play area, bike hire and shop.
We have a seasonal heated outdoor pool with non slip surface all the way around. The pool measures 18m x 10m and goes from 2.9m depth to 1.0m depth.
Parking is available at various location around the site depending if you are staying in the main house, camping or have booked one of the lodges.
Smoking is prohibited in the House and Lodges, however there is an allocated smoking area outside the House.
We do not allow pets on site although we can accommodate guide dogs if necessary.

Location

We are situated in the New Forest, just outside Bransgore.
Bransgore is the nearest town.
There is a shop on site which is open for all. Just ask at reception and we will open it for you.
Bransgore, only half a mile away.
