Duns Castle and the 7 cottages set within beautiful 1200 acre parkland present a very attractive package and can be booked individually or as a group. Each cottage has its own character and style, from the quaint round Pavilion Lodge to the wood framed Cedar Cottage and the decorative stone North Lodge on the edge of the town.
A good 4G phone signal reaches most of the estate and there is complimentary WiFi in all cottages and in the Castle. There is privacy, plenty of available garden areas, ample parking, woods and hills to walk in and a lake with several species of water fowl. Perfect for the active and those who love the country, with many species of flora fauna and birds. Yet all within walking distance of the castle and the small town of Duns and easily accessible by rail to Berwick-upon-Tweed 16 miles away.
The Castle itself with its history and awesome yet cosy interiors is perfect for family or friend stays, weddings, birthday groups, corporate retreats and has so much to offer... archery, falconry, mini-highland games, murder mysteries, whisky tasting are just some of the activities guests book and there is a dedicated planner to help get those important details right.
Catering is flexible, normally self-catering in the cottages but caterers are frequently booked for the castle which sleeps up to 23 but has dining space for 60 and so often hosts castle and cottage guests together if one booking is made for all the accommodation. All in all your events will definitely be memorable.
The town of Duns is delightful with pubs, excellent bistro dining and tea-rooms, the Jim Clark museum, a swimming pool, public library and community cinema most Friday evenings.
There are international airports at Edinburgh (60 min drive), Newcastle (about 90 min) and Glasgow (2 hrs) so although Berwickshire is unspoiled and very rural it is well connected and easy to get to.
