Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
High Wray Basecamp, Ambleside, Cumbria, Lake District, sleeps 8-38 in 5 bedrooms.
Owned and managed by the National Trust, High Wray Bunkhouse is a made up of two dormitory style accommodation blocks:
Acland sleeps 22
Longland sleeps 16
The bunkhouses can be booked separately or together.
Acland (sleeps 22) comprises dormitories, a kitchen and a communal area, all of which are self-contained within the same building.
Longland (sleeps 16) has accommodation split across a further three buildings – a dormitory accommodation block (with toilets), a kitchen and communal area block, and a shower block. The ranger's office is situated in Longland's communal block.
Tucked away in peaceful woodlands and less than a mile from Lake Windermere, the bunkhouse is an ideal location for groups looking to explore the Lake District. There are numerous walking and cycling trails through some of England’s most spectacular landscapes, and plenty of local attractions besides, including the National Trust’s Wray Castle and Beatrix Potter’s treasured home Hill Top. The bustling market town of Ambleside is only a short distance away - it's well worth a visit to view the 70 ft waterfall Stock Ghyll Force.
