The Kettlewell Hostel is a 40 bed hostel set in the beautiful North Yorkshire village of Kettlewell. The handsome stone building, which doubles up as the village Post Office, is now thriving as an independent hostel, offering group accommodation and excellent home cooked food at bargain prices. We have 8 bedrooms, several large, some small, to accommodate large parties as well as couples or solo walkers on their journeys through the dales. Groups of 30 or more can hire the whole hostel for private parties and activity weekends all year round.
This is the perfect combination of a great self catering kitchen, with the possibility of having an excellent evening meal or a brilliant breakfast cooked for you. Using the best freshest local ingredients to give you a real taste of Yorkshire. The hostel also has an alcohol licence and sells a carefully selected range of local ale and wines.
With 40 beds in the building, and 43 chairs in the dining room, no-one has to wait to be fed! Really important after a long day out on the hills. There is a sofa and comfy chairs in the dining room so people can congregate to chat and have one of our local beers in the evening. There is also a nice quiet residents lounge to sit, read or play a board game.
Kettlewell has 3 good pubs and a shop which makes life easier.
There are some good walks right from the front door: Great Whernside is at the back of us, Buckden Pike is just along the way, or you could walk up the valley along the river just enjoying the amazing scenery.
Kettlewell was on the Tour de France route and is regularly on the route of Sportive events. If you like cycling have a look at the Kettlewell Hell routes, a great challenging ride.
We also have Kilnsey Crag down the dale from us, excellent sport climbing, one of the big three limestone crags in the area.
For our younger visitors, we have a really nice park in the village with a stunning view of the valley, some lovely walks along the River Wharfe or down the valley to some stepping stones.
The dining room can double up as a classroom or conference room, bring a projector and you are away! We can seat 40 so the average class can fit nicely.

We ask for a 25% deposit on booking and the balance 1 month before the stay
