Whether a family reunion, en-route to other destinations, a family holiday or a quiet escape, La Boursaie has many possibilities; relax and unwind!
Nestling into the southern slopes of the picturesque valley of the river Vie, surrounded by 70 acres of meadows, apple orchards and woodlands, and in the midst of a protected Nature Reserve, La Boursaie has a picture postcard view across the valley.
Our 4 charming and characterful half-timbered cottages, in Colombage style typical of the region, are set around a spacious, grassy courtyard. Sympathetically restored and converted to a high standard with comfort in mind, each is independent, open-plan and well equipped. An enclosed children's play area with swings and slide is set away from the cottages, but in sight.
Relax under an apple tree (250 +), pear, plum, cherry or giant walnut tree whilst enjoying a refreshing glass of local farm cider or Calvados. Stroll through wildflower meadows, into fairy-tale woodlands rich in wildlife (deer, red squirrel and birds). Prepare meals on a mobile barbecue and dine in the open air with a 180' panorama. Play games on spacious lawns or wander through Anja's garden, read a book, do some sketching or water painting - or relax.
Of France's many beautiful provinces, Normandy is probably the richest of them all, with colourful orchards and lush pastures. Home to Monet and Joan of Arc, it is a region rich in heritage and culture with a wealth of natural beauty. Behind sheer chalk cliffs and long sandy beaches lies the Pays d'Auge. Thatched farmhouses tucked away in cosy valleys, charming moated manor houses, William the Conquerer's castles, cathedrals, Monet's gardens, the memorable WWII Landing beaches and museums.
Taste the region's delights, its world famous products and cuisine, follow the 'route de cidre', visit a distillery, sample local cheeses (Camembert, Livarot) or stroll around a traditional farmers market.
