Maes y Lade is a converted Welsh Hill Farm situated in 4 acres of isolated rural countryside at the foot of the Black Mountains, within the Brecon Beacons National Park. An area of outstanding natural beauty, it is within easy reach of the River Wye and limestone systems to the south containing some of the most extensive cave systems as well as climbing.
The centre can cater for school/youth groups of up to 55 young people per visit plus accompanying staff. Accommodation is over two buildings, with the converted barn sleeping 41 and the Farmhouse sleeping 22 in dormitory style rooms. There are shower rooms and toilets in both buildings as well as communal areas and games rooms. If you would like us to, we can cater for you during your stay, our dining hall will seat 63.
Once you have got in touch, together we would then plan a programme for your stay. As much as possible we try to use the natural environment in the National Park, as out on the rivers, rock, mountains, trails and woodland is where the real adventure and real learning can take place. You would be very welcome to come and visit the centre prior to your stay with us.
