Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
National Trust - Chilterns Bunkhouse, Hertfordshire, sleeps 8-16 in 2 bedrooms.
With the safety of our guests and staff in mind, and in line with government advice, we are extending the closure period of our holiday operations until Tuesday 30 June 2020. We will continue to review the situation on a regular basis.
A National Trust 16-bed barn conversion tucked away in the woods on Ashridge Estate. Chilterns Bunkhouse comprises two restored barns – one barn for sleeping with two dormitory style rooms, the other hosting a large kitchen, seating area, bathrooms and drying room. There’s a lovely open green space out the front with a table and seating where fallow deer graze.
The lack of phone signal and remote woodland setting make Chilterns the ideal location for groups wanting to get off the beaten track without distractions. However, don't worry - phone signal is only a short stroll into the woods.
This native English woodland is a fantastic habitat for birds and wildlife, and opens up to chalk downland further south on the estate, with plenty of walking and cycling trails. Aldbury village is only a short walk away with some nice pubs and cafes; and marks one end of the Ridgeway National Trail, the 87-mile route along the ancient ridgeway to Avebury in Wiltshire.
With so much countryside to explore or to simply relax in nature’s splendour, Chilterns Bunkhouse is the perfect base for groups looking for a breath of fresh air.
